The 2017 Ford GT has clearly not been built for everyone; not everyone who applied for the supercar got it, no matter how famous or how high profile they were. This is Ford's biggest release since they brought back the supercar first released in 2005. There was some initial discomfort regarding the price of the vehicle, with some critics accusing Ford of selling an overpriced car without a V8 engine.
The prohibitive price tag of the new car also means that not all millionaires will be able to buy it. Besides, the carmaker with the iconic blue oval logo has decided to bring out just over 500 units initially. However, there was a great demand among car enthusiasts and over 7000 people initially applied for the $450,000+ supercar.
Others who joined the dream team in acquiring a vehicle of such impressive genes included some obscure names but they all had one undeniable link: they had reach. The list includes singer Deadmau5, baseball star/car enthusiast C.J. Wilson, and Youtube phenomenon Shmee150, all of whom were bowled over by the 2017 Ford GT specs. Brooks from Dragtimes have all received the nod. Obviously, we have not been able to mention all the names because Ford does not release a public list of 2017 Ford GT owners.
Not all have passed Ford's possession test, however. This list belongs to those who have not received the supercar which is said to release in 2020. Rob Ferretti of Super Speeders magazine and website and another Youtube sensation Salomondrin have failed at their attempts to possess a proud 2017 Ford GT. One party which has maintained a studied silence on the issue is Classic Car Club Manhattan, which has applied for the car. The Car Club too has reach but whether it has received a GT is not yet known.
